Although individual units are often simple, their performance sets the quality of everything downstream. An uncalibrated balance or a drifting incubator can invalidate results from far more expensive instruments.

This sector includes sample preparation equipment, centrifuges, analytical and precision balances, drying ovens, muffle furnaces, incubators, orbital and reciprocating shakers, magnetic and overhead stirrers, mixers, homogenizers, laboratory pumps, vacuum equipment, water purification systems, refrigerators and freezers, cryogenic equipment and sterilization equipment such as autoclaves.

Key selection criteria are capacity, temperature or speed range, uniformity and stability, construction materials, safety features such as over-temperature protection and rotor imbalance detection, and compliance with standards such as IEC 61010-1 and the relevant part 2 standard. For weighing, readability and repeatability matter together with the environment the balance will sit in.

Most items ship with calibration data and a manual. Where validation is needed, such as autoclave cycle qualification or incubator temperature mapping, specify it in the RFQ so the scope and documentation can be agreed before shipment.
