What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels and device fingerprinting, can also store or read information on your device. They are used to make sites work, remember choices, measure usage and, in some cases, to advertise.

How do we measure visits without cookies?

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how many people visit the site, which pages they read, which countries visits come from and how they arrived. Plausible is designed to be cookie-less. It does not set cookies, does not store a persistent identifier on your device, and does not collect personal data that identifies you. Visit counts are aggregated, and the service does not track you across websites.

Because no information is stored on or read from your device for this purpose, it does not rely on a cookie consent. We still describe it here for transparency and will tell you if our analytics arrangement changes. Analytics data is used only to improve content, navigation and performance of the site, and not for advertising.

Which cookies or storage items do we use?

The site currently uses the following.

• Strictly necessary storage: a small item in your browser's local storage or a first-party cookie that records whether you have accepted or declined optional technologies, so that the banner does not reappear at every visit. It expires after a period stated in the banner, normally up to 12 months. It contains no personal data.
• Functional preferences, if offered: for example the language you have selected. These are set only when you choose a setting.
• Form submission: when you send a quote form, the data is transmitted to our server to handle your request. A security measure against automated abuse may set a short-lived technical token.

We do not set advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies or cross-site profiling technologies. If we add optional services in future, such as embedded video or chat, they will be listed here and will load only after you consent.

How does the consent banner work?

When you first visit, a banner explains the technologies in use and lets you accept or decline optional ones. Declining is as easy as accepting, and the site remains fully usable if you decline. Strictly necessary items do not require consent, and the banner says so.

Your choice is stored on your device only. We keep no central record that identifies you. If you clear your browser data, the banner will appear again at your next visit.

You can change your mind at any time by using the cookie settings link in the page footer, which reopens the banner, or by deleting site data in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier use that was based on consent.

How can you control cookies in your browser?

Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and site data through their settings. Blocking all cookies may stop some features from working, although this site is designed to function without optional ones. Browsers and some extensions also send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Where technically possible, we treat such a signal as a refusal of optional technologies.
